Description: Contemporary Buddhism publishes articles on the current state of Buddhism from across the human sciences. The journal presents work from philosophers, theologians, historians, psychologists, anthropologists, sociologists and political scientists. Contemporary Buddhism examines the historical, doctrinal and political developments that have formed contemporary versions of Buddhism. The special features of Contemporary Buddhism are:
- the meeting of Buddhism and western culture
- the current self-understanding of different traditions of Buddhism
- the relations between these traditions
- the relations to other world religious traditions
Contemporary Buddhism is intended to reflect and represent all schools of Buddhism. Submissions of papers related to the aims and scope of the journal are welcomed.
