Description: The Bulletin of the American Schools of Oriental Research (BASOR) is a widely circulated English-language academic journal in ancient Near Eastern studies. Founded in 1919 by the American Schools of Oriental Research (ASOR), a consortium of research and educational institutions, BASOR serves as a forum for scholars worldwide. Subject areas include archaeology, history, anthropology, literature, philology, and epigraphy. The journal publishes technical reports of original research, preliminary reports of ASOR-sponsored excavations, reviews of current scholarship in the field, research notes, and book reviews.
