Philologica: Machine Readable Texts for Indology and Buddhology.

Philologica provides machine readable texts and digital instruments for philological research.

It is intended that each text include:

  1.) a Text Encoding Initiative (TEI) version based on the best critical editions;
  2.) when appropriate, digital images of these editions correlated to the TEI version; and
  3.) a full text search, retrieval, and analysis system for the TEI version

To search texts with Philologica one must have signed up for free as a registered user.

Philologica uses a modified version of PhiloLogic™, a platform developed by the ARTFL Project and Digital Library Development Center at the University of Chicago. The author is grateful for advice he has received from one of the platform's developers Mark OLSEN.

Philologica provides scholars with digital instruments for philological research. Currently a full text search, retrieval, and analysis system is available for works by Nagarjuna and Santideva, the Mahavyutpatti and Yogacarabhumi, and the Mahabharata and Ramayana.
