Dear Colleagues,
Catalogus Bibliothecarum can now be used to search and retrieve data
from OAIster, the Open Content Alliance, and the Open Directory
Project. These resources can be searched together, in combination, or
alone through the `Miscellaneous Server' page:
http://catalogus.indica-et-buddhica.org/misc.html (registered users)
Formatted records can be retrieved in MARC or XML (Dublin Core). Many
of these records are often hidden from search engines such as Google.
Records currently available as a result of a search with `all fields =
buddhism / buddhist' are given in square brackets.
1. OAIster [buddhism: 797 / buddhist: 2227]:
http://oaister.umdl.umich.edu/o/oaister/index.html
OAIster is a union catalog of digital resources. We provide access to
these digital resources by "harvesting" their descriptive metadata
(records) using OAI-PMH (the Open Archives Initiative Protocol for
Metadata Harvesting).
2. The Open Content Alliance (OCA) [buddhism: 8 / buddhist: 5]:
http://www.opencontentalliance.org/index.html
The Open Content Alliance (OCA) represents the collaborative efforts of
a group of cultural, technology, nonprofit, and governmental
organizations from around the world that will help build a permanent
archive of multilingual digitized text and multimedia content.
3. The Open Directory Project [buddhism: 1014 / buddhist: 1992]:
http://dmoz.org/about.html
The Open Directory Project is the largest, most comprehensive
human-edited directory of the Web. It is constructed and maintained by
a vast, global community of volunteer editors.
If you would like access to Catalogus I would ask you to please
register first:
