Catalogus - Help

Catalogus: Search Interface Help.

For full access to Catalogus one must have signed up for free as a registered user.

To use the Catalogus Search Interface one only has to set a library server; set an attribute; enter ASCII or UTF-8 search terms; and press search.

Servers available:
- each regional search interface offers a range of library servers; regions include: Asia, Australasia, Canada, Europe, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States

Attributes available:
- Author (B, A), Author-name-personal (B, A), Author-name-corporate, Author-name-conference, Title, Title-series, Place-publication, Publisher, Date-of-publication, ISBN, ISSN, Abstract, Note, and Subject-heading

Terms available:
- enter search terms in ASCII or UTF-8
- single terms: e.g., `Nagarjuna' (ASCII) or `Nāgārjuna' (UTF-8) [NACSIS-CAT search result: ASCII | UTF-8]
- adjacent terms: e.g., `Kendriya Ucca Tibbati Siksha Samsthana' (ASCII) or `Kendrīya Ucca Tibbatī Śikshā Saṃsthāna' (UTF-8) [LoC search result: ASCII | UTF-8]
- personal names: `B, A', e.g., `Lamotte, Etienne'
- case insensitive terms: e.g. `BUDDHIST', `Buddhist' and `buddhist' are equivalent

 

Nota Bene: It is believed that the public Z39.50 servers accessible through Catalogus Bibliothecarum are generally available for the purposes of research or private study. Before using Catalogus please ensure that you have read and understood our Terms of Use.

Z39.50 server details and availability policies sometimes change. So that appropriate changes can be made please send all new information to the System Administrator.
