From: Brendan Ozawa-de Silva <bozawad@emory.edu> Subject: Re: CALLS FOR PAPERS Date: April 24, 2008 8:30:35 AM CDT Emory University's Graduate Division of Religion is initiating a new on-line journal called "Practical Matters" dedicated to the study of religious practices and practical theology. The journal is peer- reviewed and transdisciplinary. It welcomes submissions of traditional academic papers and critical essays, but also encourages multimedia scholarship, including film, video, soundscape, new media, photography, art or performance. The journal is funded by the Lilly Endowment. The theme of the first issue is "Imagination," and submissions are encouraged for scholars working on Buddhism in any discipline relevant to the theme. Submissions are encouraged that point to connections between imagination and religious practice, past or present. The deadline for submissions is May 30, 2008. Submissions can be emailed. The inaugural issue of the journal is planned for online publication in November, 2008. For more details, please visit the submission guidelines webpage at: http://web.mac.com/practical.matters/Practical_Matters/ Call_for_Submissions.html For questions, email Brendan Ozawa-de Silva at bozawad@emory.edu. |
